Structurer and application:

KSD301 Bimetal Thermostat series products are thermostats that use bimetallic disc as temperature sensing elements. When the appliance is working normally, the bimetallic disc is in a free state and the contacts are in a closed/open state. When the temperature reaches the action temperature, the bimetallic disc is heated to generate internal stress and quickly moves, opening/closing the contacts, cutting off the circuit, thereby playing a role in temperature control. When the appliance cools to the reset temperature, the contacts automatically close/open and resume normal working state. It is widely used in household water dispensers and electric water bottles, disinfection cabinets, microwave ovens, electric coffee pots, rice cookers, air conditioners, laminating machines and other electric heating appliances.

Introduction for Normally Close and Normally Open

Normally Closed (NC) Thermostat: A normally closed thermostat is designed such that the electrical circuit it controls remains closed (allowing current to flow) under normal operating conditions when the temperature is below a set threshold. When the temperature rises above the set point, the thermostat's mechanism activates, causing the circuit to open (interrupting current flow). This action typically triggers a cooling system (such as an air conditioner or fan) to turn on, effectively lowering the temperature back to the desired level.

Normally Open (NO) Thermostat: Conversely, a normally open thermostat is configured to keep its electrical circuit open (no current flow) under normal conditions when the temperature is below the designated threshold. Once the temperature surpasses the set point, the thermostat's mechanism is triggered, causing the circuit to close (allowing current flow). This activation often initiates a heating system (like a furnace or heater), which raises the temperature until it meets the desired level.
