Product Description
KSD307
KSD307 thermostat

Applications:
Applicable to electric water heaters, electric heating equipment, electric welding machines, steam heaters.
Product Performance and Principle
The KSD307 series thermostat produced by our company is a bimetallic contact temperature-sensing temperature relay with a fully enclosed shell. The metal strip is bent according to the principle of thermal expansion and contraction, so as to achieve rapid tripping and connection within the preset temperature range, which plays a safety protection role for electrical appliances. The disconnection temperature and reset temperature can be made according to customer needs.
Use precautions:
When using the contact temperature sensing method for installation, the metal cover should be close to the installation surface of the controlled device.
The cover should not be deformed during installation to avoid affecting the performance.
To prevent leakage, liquid should not be allowed to penetrate into the thermostat during use to avoid affecting the electrical reliability.
This product is a bipolar wiring method. When using it, follow the marked symbols and connect correctly.
The product should be stored in a ventilated, clean, dry warehouse with a relative humidity of less than 90% and an ambient temperature below 40°C and no corrosive gas.

How to select thermostat for high-power water hearters?
Selecting a KSD307 thermostat for high-power water heaters involves considering several important factors to ensure safe and effective operation. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you make the right choice:
Electrical Rating:
Current and Voltage: Determine the electrical specifications of your water heater, including the maximum current and voltage it operates on. High-power water heaters typically require thermostats capable of handling higher currents (often 30A or more) and voltages (usually 240V or 208V for residential applications).
Temperature Range:
Operating Range: Ensure the thermostat can cover the temperature range required for your water heater. Typically, water heaters operate between 40°C (104°F) to 75°C (167°F) for residential use. Select a thermostat with a temperature range that encompasses your desired set points.
Contact Type:
SPST or DPST: Decide whether a Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) or Double Pole Single Throw (DPST) thermostat is appropriate. SPST is sufficient for most residential water heaters where only one circuit needs to be controlled. DPST is used when both live and neutral lines need to be disconnected for higher safety ratings.
Accuracy and Differential:
Temperature Accuracy: Look for thermostats with precise temperature control to avoid overheating or insufficient heating of water.
Temperature Differential: Consider the temperature differential (the difference between the cut-in and cut-out temperatures) to ensure stable water temperature regulation and energy efficiency.
Durability and Safety:
Quality and Standards: Choose thermostats that meet relevant safety standards and certifications (e.g., UL, CSA) to ensure they can handle high power loads safely.
Material and Construction: Opt for thermostats made from durable materials that can withstand the temperature and environmental conditions in a water heater.
Installation Compatibility:
Mounting Type: Ensure the thermostat is compatible with the mounting method used in your water heater (typically screw or clamp mounting).
Size and Fit: Check dimensions to ensure it fits within the available space inside the water heater.
Additional Features:
Manual Reset: Some thermostats include manual reset capabilities for safety in case of overheating.
Warranty: Check the warranty period offered for the thermostat to ensure long-term reliability and support.
By considering these factors, you can select a thermostat that meets the specific requirements of your high-power water heater, ensuring efficient and safe operation while extending the lifespan of your equipment. If unsure, consulting with a professional electrician or HVAC technician can provide additional guidance tailored to your installation.
